Insurgent (Divergent #2)

Synopsis:

One choice can transform you--or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves--and herself--while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love. Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable--and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)Insurgent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. Yes, it wasn't as good as Divergent. Divergent kept you wondering what was going to happen.

Now that everyone knows Tris is Divergent, I think it's less of a mystery. Then you just wonder what Erudite are going to do.

The issues between Tobias and Tris were sad. I felt bad for Tris. I was surprised to find out that Caleb was working with Erudite. I get that it's his new faction, but wow. When it was revealed that they had a spy in Erudite, I knew automatically that it was Peter. I don't like him, but he did save Tris.
I liked the new characters they introduced. Sadly most of them died. You learn not to get attached to anyone.

The ending was good. I like the way Veronica Roth ends her books. Caleb and Tobias hacking into the computer to show the video was a good touch. It doesn't redeem Caleb.

And now we wait for book 3. I'm looming forward to it.
